Seeing the number is step one. Changing it is step two. NoSlip tracks your drink-free days with one tap a day and shows your body recovering in real time — sleep, energy, liver — as the savings add up.

How the calculator works

Spending is your weekly drink count × average price, projected across 52 weeks. Calories use typical values per serving — around 150 kcal for a beer, 125 kcal for a glass of wine, 200 kcal for a cocktail, and 100 kcal for a shot of spirits. Everything runs in your browser: nothing you enter is stored, sent, or tracked.

Why the yearly number surprises people

Drink spending hides in small transactions — a round here, a bottle with dinner there — so almost nobody has ever seen their annual total. Research consistently shows people underestimate how much they drink by 30–50%, which means the true number is probably higher than what you just calculated. And the money is only part of it: the same drinks carry a meaningful calorie load and a real cost in sleep quality and recovery.

What to do with the number

Don't aim for zero overnight — aim for visible progress. Two or three scheduled alcohol-free days a week cuts the yearly figure dramatically, and banking the savings somewhere you can see them (a separate pot, a running note) turns an abstract number into motivation. If you want the tracking done for you, that's exactly what NoSlip is for.

Estimates are based on the values you enter and typical per-serving calories; actual costs and calories vary by drink, venue, and serving size. This tool is for general information only and is not medical or financial advice.
